Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia - KEMLU is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. KEMLU is the Indonesian government ministry which oversees the foreign affairs of Indonesia. KEMLU was first established in 1945 and formerly known as Departemen Luar Negeri/DEPLU or the Department of Foreign Affairs. The name of Kementerian Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia officially launched in 2008 according to UU 39/2008, the new law about State Ministry of 2008. The Ministry is based in Jakarta and its head office is regierered at Jl Pejambon No 6 Jakarta Pusat, 10110.
KEMLU headed by a Minister of Foreign Affairs that since 22 October 2009 chaired by Marty Natalegawa. The Minister of Foreign Affairs is assisted by 1 Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, 1 Secretariat General, 7 Directorate Generals, 1 Inspectorate General, 1 Policy Analysis and Development Agency, and 4 Expert Staff.
